We have previously highlighted the enhanced functionalities in the current Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2017, such as financial reporting and deeper Outlook integration for email, tasks and calendars. In this blog we focus on improvements within Jobs and projects in NAV 2017 which will mean a more tailored experience for project managers in professional service firms.
Enhanced user experience in Dynamics NAV
Working with Jobs in Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2017 is now more straightforward, helping service organisations manage projects more easily and get more visibility into the details.
Project managers are typically time poor, and often the “admin” side gets in the way of customer contact, however the importance of setting up and managing your project centrally is critical so that your project team understands objectives, status and tasks. So with the new “Jobs set up wizard”, projects and time sheets can be set up quickly and common tasks accessed and allocated.
For a focussed and personalised experience of managing jobs and projects in NAV 2017, the Project Manager role centre has been updated with useful new charts, a “My Jobs” list also helps your PM know outstanding tasks within the project.
Improved productivity for jobs and projects in NAV 2017
Collating and getting out cost information to your customers in project can mean gathering multiple data sources and so take too much time. Users can now access Job Sales Invoices quicker through an additional queue, and a new fact box has been added to quickly show Job Cost information, plus a new Microsoft Word template for a new report “Job Quote” means that users can edit and send out quickly directly from Outlook email without reinventing the wheel or not following agreed guidelines.
Whether you need support with resource and capacity management, job costing, time sheet administration or KPI monitoring, NAV 2017 keeps your projects in best practice.
