I find it incredible that small businesses can access such a feature rich ERP solution at such a low cost with Dynamics 365 Business Central.
In the 1-10 user market, I will admit there are a lot of players including Sage and Quickbooks that are cheaper, but the inevitability is, that if you are a growing business you will end up having to change your ERP or Finance system at some point to enable growth. This is not the case with Business Central. It will flex and grow with you.
Born out of the Dynamics NAV stable with all the same functionality, it comprehensively offers organisations heavy weight functionality in areas such as Finance, Fixed Asset Management, Inventory Management, Projects, Warehouse Management, Manufacturing, Service Management and CRM.
The beauty of the solution is that you only configure the areas of the system that you need today and then grow into other areas of functionality as and when your business needs change. An example of this might be… you start by using inventory management in a simple straight forward way, but as your business grows, you may wish to open new locations and introduce a more controlled warehouse management system. With Business Central this can easily be achieved. This means you can start with a simple turn key implementation, which is easy to learn and straight forward to use.
In the past software with this level of sophistication meant a substantial upfront cost running into tens of thousands of pounds. Business Central has a simple licencing model which starts at just over £50 per user per month. This is a pure Cloud Solution, so there is no hardware to buy and maintain and you can access the software anywhere you have an internet connection through a web browser and on any device with apps for Windows, Ios and Android. Therefore, you are never too far from your key business information.
As you would expect from Microsoft, Business Central integrates tightly with Office 365, allowing you to update your data in Excel and push it instantly back into the system. With the Outlook connector you can even see customer information and enter quotations and orders without leaving Outlook.
It is key to businesses that Key Performance Indicators are easily accessible from your business solution. Business Central is integrated with Power BI, Microsoft’s industry leading Business Intelligence tool.
I find the value for money that Business Central offers is outstanding. As the title says, you get a lot of Bang for your Bucks.
